Who Is Chanel Preston?
Chanel Preston is the stage name of Rachel Ann Taylor. She was born and raised in Alaska and entered the adult entertainment industry in 2010. Within a short time she became one of the more recognized names in the business. She was named Penthouse magazine’s Pet of the Month for March 2012, and she has been featured in mainstream outlets such as Cosmopolitan and CNBC.
She is also known for what she has done outside of film. She served as president of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee, often called APAC. She created a crowdfunded sex education web series called Naked with Chanel. She has also hosted a sex-positive podcast and written for industry blogs. This mix of performing, speaking and teaching is a big reason her name stays in search results years after her debut.
Chanel Preston Early Life and Education
Rachel Ann Taylor was born on December 1, 1985, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Alaska is where she grew up, and her biography on IMDb says she developed a love of performing from a young age. As a child and teenager she took part in community theater, reciting lines from William Shakespeare. She also played the piano and is said to have impressed her family with recitals of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s concertos.
The same biography describes her as someone who gets bored easily and follows a “try anything once” attitude. She was raised with the idea of gender equality, and she has talked about facing unfair treatment as a girl on the gym mats, where she trained and wrestled with boys. That experience is often linked to her later interest in fairness and performer rights.
Chanel Preston education
When it comes to schooling, the public record is short but clear. She received her early education through homeschooling. After that, she continued her studies in Hawaii. At around age 19 she moved there and lived on the islands for about six years.
While in Hawaii, she worked at a gentlemen’s club for a little over a year. During this time she also earned an esthetician certification, which is a license to work in skincare. Reports do not list a specific college degree, so if you see a website claiming one, treat it with caution unless it names a school.
Chanel Preston Family and Parents
Family is one of the most searched topics about Chanel Preston, and it is also one where most websites give almost no real information. Here is what is actually known.
- Parents: Her parents have not been named in public. Some websites call them “Mr. and Mrs. Taylor,” which simply comes from her birth surname and is not a confirmed detail.
- Siblings: No reliable source names any brothers or sisters. It is unclear whether she has siblings.
- Ethnic background: She has been described as having English, German and Spanish roots, and she was born and raised in the United States.
- Children: She is reportedly not a mother and has never been married.
Why so little detail? Chanel Preston has kept most of her family life private. This is common for people in her line of work, who often protect loved ones from unwanted attention. If she shares more in a future interview, this section will be updated.
Chanel Preston Career
How her career began
Chanel Preston began her career in the adult entertainment industry in January 2010. She was 24 at the time. According to published biographies, she met producer Nick Manning and filmed her first scene for Vivid Entertainment’s Brand New Faces series. Before that, she had worked for more than a year as a stripper, which gave her experience in front of an audience.
Her natural confidence helped her stand out quickly. In her first year, she appeared in well-known productions such as Hooked from Wicked Pictures, along with several popular parody films. She went on to work with major studios, including Vivid, Wicked Pictures, Hustler Video, Brazzers and Digital Playground.
Awards and recognition
Preston’s rise was fast. Reports say she earned several “Best New Starlet” honors from industry groups such as XBIZ, XRCO and NightMoves. She also appeared at the 2011 AVN Awards, where she was nominated in four categories, according to one profile.
One of her biggest media moments came in 2012, when she was named Penthouse Pet of the Month for March. CNBC also listed her more than once in its yearly “Dirty Dozen: Porn’s Most Popular Stars” ranking. These mentions helped her reach readers who do not follow the adult industry closely.
Mainstream appearances
Preston has also been seen outside of adult films. She appeared in music videos for Russ Irwin (“Get Me Home”) and Waka Flocka Flame (“Bust”). She has been featured in Cosmopolitan, and she was an extra in an episode of the TV series Sons of Anarchy. These smaller roles show how far her name traveled beyond her main field.
Advocacy and APAC
Many fans know Chanel Preston for her work as an advocate. She served as president of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC), a group that works to improve safety, health standards and support for performers. In this role she spoke about performer rights, workplace conditions and the need for fair treatment.
This part of her career matters because it shows a different side of her public image. She is not only a performer. She is also someone who has spent time and energy trying to improve the working lives of other performers.
Naked with Chanel and media work
In 2014, Preston launched Naked with Chanel, a crowdfunded sex education web series. The show looked at how society views sexuality and was praised for being informative and open-minded. The fact that it was funded by fans says a lot about her connection with her audience.
That same year, she co-hosted the 31st AVN Awards with Samantha Saint. She has also written blogs for XCritic.com, become the first guest blogger for AdultDVDEmpire.com, and hosted Inside Adult on the X3Sixty network. In later years she has hosted a sex-positive podcast, which continues her teaching and talking style.

Chanel Preston Age and Height
How old is Chanel Preston? She was born on December 1, 1985, so she is 40 years old as of October 2026. She will turn 41 on December 1, 2026. Be careful when you read older articles, because some pages still list her age as 33, which was true around 2019 and 2020.
How tall is Chanel Preston? Her reported height is 1.73 meters, which is about 5 feet 8 inches. A few older websites say her height is “unknown,” but newer profiles agree on this figure.
Chanel Preston Boyfriend and Relationship Status
Fans often ask, “Who is Chanel Preston dating?” The honest answer is that she keeps her love life mostly private. She is reportedly single, has never been married and does not have children.
Here is what has been reported about her past:
- Juelz Ventura: She was linked with fellow performer Juelz Ventura around 2010.
- James Deen: She acknowledged a relationship with actor James Deen in 2015. It was not widely publicized at the time.
Beyond these two names, there is no confirmed information about a current boyfriend. Be careful with gossip pages that claim to know more. Many of them copy each other and do not cite a source. Until Chanel Preston talks about her relationship life herself, it is best to treat unconfirmed claims as rumors.
Chanel Preston Net Worth in 2026
Net worth is the most confusing part of any Chanel Preston search. Different websites give very different numbers:
- Some profiles estimate $1 million to $5 million.
- Others say $5 million to $8 million for 2026.
- A few pages claim $10 million to $12 million.
- One older scraped page even listed $91 million, which is clearly not realistic.
Why the numbers disagree
Chanel Preston has never shared her tax records or bank details. Every net worth figure online is a guess built from her career length, her likely earnings and her business activity. Many sites copy numbers from one another, and some are automatically generated. That is why you see such a wide range.
A realistic estimate
Based on the more credible profiles and the length of her career, a fair range is about $1 million to $8 million. Most careful sources sit near the lower-to-middle part of that range. Treat any figure above that, especially the $91 million claim, as unreliable.
How she makes money
Her income is believed to come from several places:
- Film work: Her performances for major studios since 2010.
- Modeling and magazine features: Including her Penthouse Pet title and other photo work.
- Hosting and media: Awards hosting, Inside Adult, blogging and her podcast.
- Social media and sponsorships: Paid partnerships and affiliate links.
- Production and business ventures: Some sources say she works behind the camera as a producer or director, though details vary and should be checked.
The key takeaway is simple. Her net worth is an estimate, not a confirmed number, and it is best read as a range.

Why Chanel Preston Still Matters
Many performers come and go quickly. Chanel Preston has stayed in the public eye for well over a decade. There are a few reasons for this.
First, she built a brand beyond one type of work. She hosted shows, wrote blogs, spoke to mainstream media and started her own education series. Second, she took a leadership role at APAC, which gave her a voice on issues that affect many performers. Third, she communicates openly and with humor, which makes her easy for fans to connect with.
Whether or not someone follows her field, her career is a good example of how a public figure can turn a short burst of attention into a long-lasting career.
